At Service Pump & Supply, we’ve learned a lot in 40 years. In celebration of our anniversary, we want to share some of that knowledge and continue our tradition of putting service first. So we recently launched a new training series to help water and wastewater professionals advance their skills. 

We are excited to announce the following FREE classes for 2020:

  • February 20: Pumps 101
  • February 21: Pumps 101 
  • February 26: Intro to Adjustable Speed Drives (ASDs)
  • February 26: Intro to ASD Programming
  • February 27: Intro to Adjustable Speed Drives (ASDs)
  • February 27: Intro to ASD Programming
  • March 3 – Pumpology Class

About the Classes

Pumps 101

Pumps 101 is a FREE one-day training designed to provide an introduction and overview of pump technologies. Our expert instructors have decades of pump application experience and can help even experienced technicians take their understanding of pump systems to the next level. Each Pumps 101 class is open to 22 attendees. All participants will receive a certificate of completion, and six hours of continuing education credits will be offered for operators in the states of Ohio, Kentucky, and West Virginia. 

Intro to Adjustable Speed Drives

We are pleased to partner with Toshiba International to host our Intro to Adjustable Speed Drives course. This course provides water and wastewater professionals with basic operational knowledge of Adjustable Speed Drives (ASDs) including motor and drive theory, setup and wiring, troubleshooting, and maintenance. Operators will develop knowledge through instructor presentations and hands-on exercises with application emphasis on the Toshiba VF-AS3.

All participants will receive a certificate of completion, and we are working on gaining approval for 3 hours of continuing education credits for operators.

Intro to ASD Programming

Again, we are pleased to partner with Toshiba International to host our Intro to ASD Programming course. This course provides water and wastewater professionals with basic operational knowledge of programming Adjustable Speed Drives (ASDs) including the use of transducers, potentiometers, and PID controls. Operators will develop knowledge through instructor presentations and hands-on exercises with application emphasis on the Toshiba VF-AS3.

All participants will receive a certificate of completion, and we are working on gaining approval for 3 hours of continuing education credits for operators.

Thompson Pump Pumpology

The Thompson Pump Pumpology workshop will be led by an instructor from Thompson Pump. Topics include:

  • Principles of Pumping
  • Reading Pump Curves
  • Portable & Stationary Bypass Pumping WRF
  • Diesel Engines – Cummins 2.8T
  • RECON 2000 Control Panels
  • Troubleshooting and Pump Failure Analysis

All participants will receive a certificate of completion, and we are working on gaining approval for 6 hours of continuing education credits for operators.
